Quarantine. It’s the human equivalent of a zoo. Humans are locked in their houses with nowhere to go. We are stuck in the parameters of our home without a hope of returning to normal activities. K-12 are stuck teaching themselves the curriculum that even before school was cancelled they would be teaching themselves. At least the motivation being in a school building pushed them to do work. Now, the only motivation they have is from their bed which continually yells for them to return to sleep. Eat, sleep, procrastinate is the motto for everyone at this point in time. Though the efforts of human beings are being depleted by the minute, nature is thriving. Pollution has decreased with less and less people on the roads and factories shut down. Tourists have stopped traveling allowing the canals of Venice to grow clear and allowing the beauty of the water to once again shine through crystal clear. Schools of fish and swans are re-inhabiting their old homes because humans are out of the picture. Though the normal animals are taking back their place in society, it is also bringing back creatures that haven’t surfaced for years upon years. As humans began to colonize the world, these creatures took a step back to perceive their population and not go instinct. One case is of the lochness monster up in Scotland. Every few decades they would resurface to observe home much the area has changed, but with the evolution of man the family never felt as though they were safe to resurface. Continuing to live their lives deep below the ocean surface. With the humans stuck indoors; no chance of becoming the humans entertainment the family of lochness monsters have resurfaced. They are once again creating their home on the surface like they did centuries ago. Lochness monsters aren’t the only creatures to resurface and take their place amongst society again. Everyone has to keep an eye out for these special creatures resurfacing. We all can live in peaceful harmony after COVID 19 is gone.
